December 26, 2017

I hope the first thing you noticed was the date! Yes, it is December, probably the best time to come to Arizona because it’s a desert. I have always wanted to come to Arizona because it is home to some of the world’s number one National Parks. And let me tell you now, none of my pictures do justice. You have to go see for yourself. Today I came to Antelope Canyon. It was by far the most picturesque place I’ve been too in a long time. What I love about it more than anything is that it makes you dream. It’s not like the Eiffel Tower–a man-made structure, it’s all created naturally. I love listening to people try to figure it out too. How did the rocks form like this? How did this happen? I continued to hear questions like these during the entire tour of the Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. It’s a wonder, it really is!

I booked a tour online to both of these places and the bus picks you up early in the morning in front of a number of select hotels you can choose from on the strip in Las Vegas. Once you arrive, the bus drops you off and you have to be back by a certain time. Once I was let off the bus, I joined a group of other tourist with a tour guide. This guy was awesome! At first he was really annoying to me because he seemed like he had done the tours for people a million times already and he was talking really fast with no emotion–almost like a robot. But once we got inside the actual canyon, he calmed down…lol. Before entering the Canyon however, we had to wait outside in line. LINES! Ugh, I hate lines. Why do we have a line when it’s December? Anyways, we had to wait. In the mean time, I decided to check out some of the rock formation around the Canyon. Check me out standing on this beauty! Peep those beautiful clouds too…

We finally got inside and it was the most interesting adventure ever! We had to climb stairs that were steeper than I’ve ever climbed before. I was hanging onto rails for dear life! I even hit my head trying to climb out. I was a hot mess. But it’s so cool how the rocks formed into these caves with intricate designs that only God could truly handcraft. I was overwhelmed!

There were times while walking through that I didn’t know what to take a picture of anymore because it all started to look the same but it was so beautiful that I just kept taking pictures anyway. Click the link below to catch a real-time view inside the Canyon! FYI–You’ll hear my annoying tour guide…

Inside Antelope Canyon

Getting through the entire cave took almost an hour an a half. By then, I was ready to see daylight again. Peace out Antelope!

We all got back on the bus and then we headed to the Horseshoe Bend which was like 20 minutes away. Now once you get here, you have a long way to walk before you actually get to the Horseshoe. The trail is a long walk up and it’s also steep so its definitely a workout. But once you get to the top, the site is amazing and Arizona in general is just beautiful. Thankfully the clouds were on point and they were so so so clear! There was no air pollution whatsoever. It was definitely so refreshing to just spend time with nature.

Once I was done hanging out at the Horseshoe, I went roaming in the desert to just appreciate what God has gifted our Earth. I was in my happy place. 🙂

We had about 45 minutes to hangout and then we boarded the bus, back to Vegas!
