1:30 PM

So this morning, Matt, Judith and I are on our way to Naples and Pompeii for the weekend. We got up at 5am remembering our train was going to leave around 7:30am. But when we arrive to Rome Termini, it dawns on Judith that our particular train  actually doesn’t leave until 8:30am. So we are sitting in the station waiting to leave and we realize that there was no platform meeting point for our train and when we went to ask why, it was because our train got CANCELLED–> STRIKE ONE! The next one wasn’t coming until 10:49am…GREAT, we have to wait a whole two hours. Finally, we get on this train and an hour and a half into the trip, the train stops for a whole hour and a half in the middle of nowhere–>STRIKE TWO! Then all of a sudden we hear thunder and it starts pouring down raining outside and we’re still WAITING–>STRIKE TWO/HALF… A few minutes after, the train starts to move and we are picking up speed. I am so frustrated by all the lost time… But the good thing is…I’m still headed to Naples!! But at the same time, I can’t help but to wonder, how much worst this day can get…fml/smh..

8:50 PM

I am currently in Naples and I have just returned to my hotel from the pouring rain!! We finally got here at about 2:45pm when we were supposed to initially get here at 1:30pm–> FAIL! The good thing though is that we checked into a very cute hotel. There’s no good sight from our window, but the people from the front desk were really sweet. We shortly left the hotel to venture out on our journey and boy is Naples raggedy! BUT, I love the graffiti…it’s very different, very artistic and umm …thoughtful.

Waiting… and finally Eat. Pray. Love. Naples certainly felt like Eat. Pray. Love. Have you read the book before? Have you seen the movie?

Never in a million years did I think I’d come to Naples and dine at the same restaurant Julia Roberts went to eat pizza in her movie “Eat Pray Love” at L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele. Her pictures were everywhere in the restaurant and omg, the pizza was SO good! We ate a Margharita and Marinera pizza all for €8. Surprisingly, the pizza was super cheap! My pizza alone was 3euros! The best pizza I’ve ever eaten by far! I will be going back to Pizzeria Da Michele one day!

After the pizza, I went to Castle Nuovo–thee most beautiful castle I’ve ever seen! I walked along the beach and read stones of people’s romance timeline. It was so peaceful. During that time though Judith kept seeing light flashing in the sky but I was so in denial about it being lightening. For about 20 minutes, the entire sky was lightening up minute after minute. Then all of a sudden it starts STORMING outside–> STRIKE THREE! …and I start getting soaked. It was only 7:30p. We had barely arrived to Naples and we had to end the night so soon. I was disappointed, yet I still saw some incredible things 🙂

Ok, I’ll admit. I couldn’t help but act like a tourist when I saw this castle. It’s a castle!! #Naples, Italy

A Peaceful Farewell…

Today we slept in till past nine then we got ready and left for the train back to Rome. On the way, I saw that huge croissant again and this time, YES, I had to buy it! So I did. We got on the train, rode all the way back to Naples and got off 30 minutes later. The weather was definitely crazy. It was windy, the sky was grey and it was cold!! We decided to go to the pizza place where Matt (travel buddy) wanted to eat but once we got all the way over there it was closed:(. It was barely 11am and restaurants weren’t going to open until noon. So in the meanwhile we went to church! In the cathedral mass was going on so we sat and waited and adored the beauty of the church. It really was beautiful! The churches here in Europe are amazing. They are so creative and breathtaking. They really are a big deal! There’s so much detail in every corner and every wall, every seat, even the ceiling. #unexplainable!

After church, we finally went to eat–PIZZA, our fourth day in a row! Woah! And this time it was so good. It was better than the days before and on top of that I got an extra large coke!! After dinner, we realized that none of the shops were open. On top of that, the weather was really acting up so decided to head back to the train station early. We took the 3pm train and was on our way back to Rome. It was sad watching the beautiful landscaping- the mountains and the trees, so much greenery.  Every departure meant I wouldn’t be back. I was so sad.
