I arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada on Christmas Day. I have been to Vegas four times prior, but I came to Vegas this time for a very different reason. Las Vegas is typically an easy city to get around. The main tourist attraction is really just a strip of hotels. How can you get lost?

I decided I wanted to take my first ever trip as a solo traveler and if I wanted to make any destination a place to travel alone, it was Las Vegas. Recently however, there was a shooting during a concert so I definitely came with my eyes wide open and took extra steps for safety–one being prayer, daily.

Now, I didn’t come to Vegas solely to venture out alone. I came so that I could easily make my way to some of the National Parks in the area. I have always wanted to go the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park and the Antelopes! So my only other reason for coming to Vegas was to go back to my hotel for sleep until my next venture. I did have a reservation to go up the Vegas/Paris Eiffel Tower, but I never made it. You can read more about that in my Grand Canyon post. But I did hang out for a minute outside of Bellagio to watch a water show. That has always been my favorite in Vegas and it always feels pretty magical 🙂

On my last day in Vegas, I decided to go see the Seven Magic Mountains. Talk about magic–that was definitely it! So how do you get here? Well, the Seven Magic Mountains are literally in the middle of the desert. Smack dab in the middle of no where and it’s about 20 minutes away from Vegas, so it’s not actually in the city. I decided to take an Uber because I had no other choice really and thankfully my Uber driver waited for me and took me back to Vegas. It’s not cheap either if you Uber but if it’s your only means, do what you have to do. If you rent a car, that’s a different story.

Anyways, once I got to the rocks, which you can see them from a distance once you get closer, its just a beautiful sight to see. A bunch of colors in the middle of no where. Immediately you start to feel like a kid again. Seriously! My driver pulled up, I got out the car and ran up to the towers. On the way, I saw signs that read “Be Aware of Rattlesnakes”. I was like wait–pause. Snakes? Ones that bite? Then I started to run faster. I saw a few other families and friends taking pictures and they were happy to take some pictures for me too. I hung out for about 15 minutes and then took my Uber back to Vegas.
